Luiz Zanotello (he/him) is an artist, transmedia researcher, and educator born in Brazil and based in Berlin. His post-digital practice inquires into material ecologies of techno-imagination. From an intimate perspective, he investigates the crossings of space, language, and environment to address ecological urgencies of our technological present. His work traverses cultural, artistic, and academic networks through transmedia installations, lecture-performances, teaching, and publishing.

His work has been presented at institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, the Museum of Applied Arts Vienna, the Personal Structures Biennial in Venice, the Technische Sammlungen Dresden, the Städtische Galerie Karlsruhe, the FILE Festival in São Paulo, and the Cidade das Artes in Rio de Janeiro, among others. He served as Assistant Professor for New Media at the UdK Berlin for six years and as a guest lecturer in Artistic Research in Media Art at the HfK Bremen. He is a former DAAD fellow, a recipient of the Petra & Dieter Frese Stiftung prize, and has participated in residencies at the European Media Art Platform and Akademie Schloss Solitude in collaboration with SAVVY Contemporary, among others. He holds an MA in Digital Media from the HfK Bremen, and is currently a PhD candidate in Artistic Research at the PhDArts program (Leiden University/Royal Academy of Art), in collaboration with the HfK Bremen, supported by the Studienstiftung.
