Nicole Vennemann works as a freelance journalist and lecturer in the field of art and communication science and gives guest lectures at the universities of Vienna, Cologne and Munich, among other things on aesthetic practices and building knowledge in contemporary art. She also teaches art, media and design history as well as design theory at the Mediadesign University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf.

She completed her studies in art history and German studies in Heidelberg with a thesis on the experimental series of Australian performance artist Stelarc as well as Internet-based actions in Web 1.0 in the cyberpunk environment.

At the same time, she is the organizer of the theater and performance collective "The Germaniac Group" in Cologne. In 2018 she completed her PhD at the University of Cologne with the thesis: "The experiment in contemporary art, the initiation of events as forms of artistic research".

Since 2018 she is a member of the Society for Cultural Studies and the Society for Artistic Research in Germany.
